“Aztec” Necklace
An intricate necklace featuring an “Aztec-type” design. It is comprised of many moving parts and makes a bold statement, circa 1940s. The necklace's design includes turquoise, coral, and amethyst stones… all set in a combination of different settings…some round cabochons and other table cut squares and rectangles. The working of the silver pieces that make up the necklace is intricate, including two birds with turquoise eyes, a chain of hand-like medallions, and a fringe of drops with small turquoise cabochons. The necklace has been blackened and has a wonderful patina. It is marked with a hallmark and stamped “Sterling Silver 925 Mexico.” It has a box clasp that is set with amethysts and turquoise. The length is 16 1/2"
